Meet Joseph: I’m a graduate of Longwood University with degrees in political science and history. I am also in seminary studying to become a minister. I enjoy studying Virginia politics and have built a 40 year record of Virginia elections.

“If there are any youth that see this, always know that your needs come first. Never feel like my voice or my opinion is not important because is it. If something is not right, you need to speak up for yourself. If you need an accommodation at work or at school, you need to speak up and let your employer or your teacher know.”

How did I’m Determined allow you to become more self-determined? How have you led a self-determined life since then?
“It taught-me how to speak up for myself and advocate for what I need. I used this when I was on the Student Government Association at Longwood.”
What is a memory you have with I’m Determined that stands out to you and why?
“I met a friend named Ceasar at IMD who is also into ministry and we do bible study every week.”
If you could say something to your younger self (before discovering I’m Determined) what advice would you give them? How have you grown since then?
