Overview
This is the first Appomattox Echo Event for the I’m Determined Project. The event will echo the activities from the Youth and Family Summit held in June at James Madison University. Participants will have opportunities to connect, learn, and imagine what possibilities exist through their abilities and beliefs when they set goals and are productive.
Just like the Summit, our Echo Event will provide opportunities for youth and parents to increase learning, advance self-determination, and strengthen interpersonal relationships. During our time together, we have created space where everyone can:
- Gain an understanding of competence and what activities build confidence.
- Build a sense of understanding in the choices you have and the “freedom to” speak and advocate for the things that will make you successful.
- Engage in “connecting with” others to strengthen our opportunities.
